Info

Do you feel strange whenever you hear the phrase “organized trip”? Knowing months ahead what you’ll do each day is not for you? No problem, the “do it yourself” trip is right up your alley! Our most affordable itinerary with the most independence and autonomy for the traveler.
We will give you only the structure of your trip: Accommodation in 2/3 star hotels >> Bus (with the necessary comforts) >> Return ticket for the Machu Picchu trains and buses >> Pick up from every airport or terminal by a PeruEtico staff member, to then take you to your hotel >> Visit to the community of Amantani at Lake Titicaca
The rest is planned by you… excursions, museums, city tours… you organize your program for each day directly on the spot. Of course, we will always be available from our office in Peru, to give you a hand or recommendations in case you need it. You can always count on the staff of PeruEtico for any questions or unforeseen situations.

Free afternoon, we recommend resting and eating light. Trip briefing and presentation by a team member of PeruEtico. Night at the hotel.

Day 3Free Day in Cusco and "Myths&Legends" tour

Free day to walk around the beautiful city of Cusco. Some must-see sites that we recommend: the archeological park of Sacsayhuaman (Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay), San Pedro market, the Cathedral at the Plaza de Armas; MAP (Museum of PreColombian Art); Qoricancha – The Temple of the Sun; and the quaint neighborhood of San Blas. Optional: Visit and lunch in a social project in Cusco. In the evening we go on a cultural and alternative walking tour. Strolling under the stars through the historic center of the city, we discover a less-known side of Cusco: myths, legends, tales, ghosts and saints. A unique experience to see the true Cusco, iconic city of Peru. Night at the hotel.

Day 4Private Car in The Sacred Valley

Private car with driver is available the entire day, and we are able to choose our itinerary. We recommend visiting Chinchero and the Rainbow Temple; Moray, ancient and wonderful biological lab of the Incas; Maras, impressive salt mines in a beautiful landscape, which have been in operation for over 1000 years; and Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that is still inhabited today and is an extraordinary model of urban planning. In the afternoon we take the train to Aguas Calientes to begin our Machu Picchu adventure. Night at the hotel.

Day 5Machu Picchu

At dawn we embark on a dream. We take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and enter the “lost city.” For the more adventurous there is also the possibility to climb to the top of Huayna Picchu or visit the Machu Picchu Mountain or the Huchuy Picchu. In the afternoon we take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, and then the bus to make our way back to Cusco. Night at the hotel.

Day 6 Free day in Cusco: Rainbow Mountain or Pisac?

Free day, ideal to walk around Cusco or visit Rainbow Mountain or the town of Pisac, its ruins and market. Night at the hotel.

Day 7 The Road to Puno

We get picked up at 06:15 from the hotel and begin our journey towards the city of Puno. The comfortable touristic bus (including heating, air conditioning, chemical bathroom, DVD, on board service, and buffet lunch in Sicuani) will make several stops during the journey: Andahuaylillas, Rajchi, and Pukara. Pick-up from the bus station in Puno. Night at the hotel.

Day 8Lake Titicaca- Uros and Amantaní

After breakfast, we head to the port and embark on a boat to Uros floating islands, located north of Puno’s bay. Then we reach Amantani island where we have lunch and spend the afternoon discovering the island. Dinner and night with a local family.

Day 11Free Day in Arequipa

Free day in Arequipa, “The White City.” Some things you cannot miss: Santa Catalina Convent, Museum of mummy Juanita, and the delicious traditional dishes of local cuisine. At night we are picked up from the hotel and taken to the bus station where, on a comfortable touristic bus (heating, air conditioning, chemical bathroom, DVD, on board service) we embark towards Nasca.
Note: For those who are not interested in visiting Nasca it is possible to go directly from Arequipa to the Huacachina oasis, an ideal place for sand boarding on the dunes or going through the desert to watch the sunset.

If your international flight arrives in Lima in the morning, please note that the room is available from 3 pm. You can then leave your luggage in the hotel luggage storage for free, but you cannot enter the room before the check-in time. In this case we recommend to include a room available from the moment of your arrival, with an extra cost.
PeruEtico does not directly organize the group tours described in the program. We work with selected local and professional agencies.
Machu Picchu: travelers are limited to a 20lt/5kg backpack; the rest of your luggage is to be left in custody at the hotel in Cusco or Urubamba.
Housing in Amantani is very basic. Rooms are cozy and there are enough thick blankets to keep you warm. Bathrooms are located outside the house.
In Arequipa, the hotel checkout time is 11:00. Luggage can be left in the hotel storage. (To keep the room for the rest of the day there is an extra charge of 30 USD per person).
As from the arrival in Peru, the passenger is responsible for any additional costs caused by a variation in the program (net cost plus agency rights).

Responsible tourism

Through the stay and experience in Amantani, and the visit to the Maras salt ponds, you are directly helping and supporting the local families and their projects.
Any of our employees, from guides to local communities, receive a fair salary and remuneration for the work done, above the average in Peru.
Peruetico is committed to reducing the environmental impact and the use of plastic and paper during your travels.

Since the initial organization of the trip, the PeruEtico staff has proved to be impeccable, precise and very helpful. Never found so much willingness to try to fulfill every request, doubt, need of the customer and it also happened on the spot. Places and people that deserve to be visited !! Recommended to know English or Spanish (we have little aptitude for languages and therefore this lack of ours we have made more effort) but the staff of PeruEtico, in particular Gianni, have always been present x to resolve any doubt !! You are never alone, nothing is left to chance, transport organized impeccably !! Safe and definitely recommended!

Exciting journey, not only thanks to the beautiful destination chosen (Peru) but also thanks to PeruEtico, which managed to organize unique experiences for us that we will always carry in our hearts. For example, we remember with emotion the day spent with an Andean community or the fascinating evening tour of Myths and Legends of Cusco.
We must thank everyone, from Emanuele who in the first place has organized a perfect itinerary for us and which according to our needs has always been available to “touch up” and personalize it.
Gianni, known at the briefing on the spot, turned out to be a very friendly and super nice person, always available on WhatsApp to solve all our doubts during the trip. Ainin, a very sweet lady who did her best to solve a small problem due to my partner’s wheat intolerance.
A special mention goes to David, our Peruvian guide (speaking an excellent Italian) in the area of Cusco, Valle Sacra and Pallcoyo. A special person, not just a guide, but a fan of the trade … with his humility and all his knowledge he managed to convey the charm of the magnificent Inca empire, making us go home with much more desire to deepen the subject, but also to make us better understand the traditions and realities of this people, which touched us deeply.
And let’s not forget John, the perfect driver
We advise everyone to rely on this tour operator! We discovered it through TripAdvisor reviews, and we can only confirm the previous reviews. Thanks Peru, thanks PeruEtico !!!

What did we like and not about the trip to Peru? Excellent assistance from the pre-departure organization to on-site support. The hotels were above our expectations. Wonderful the experience of sleeping at Lake Titicaca. Particular mention for the guides of the PeruEtico agency, very prepared and that allow to better enter the complex reality of the Peruvian society and the Inca culture. Highly recommended !!!

Hola from Rome !! I came back from this fantastic journey that you have organized me in a truly exemplary way. Initially I was doubtful because of “travel agencies” on the internet if they are found galore … and there are also so many rip-offs. But by reading some comments on TripAdvisor, I chose to trust you and never was a fairer choice. I really found everything perfect: travel arrangements, location and category of the selected hotels, transfers, suggested excursions, courtesy and availability during the trip. Really THANK YOU !!! I will certainly advertise you among my friends who want to come to Peru!
