Itinerary

Intercontinental flight. Upon arrival in Lima, meeting at the airport with our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. Night at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport and flight from Lima to Puerto Maldonado, where we will begin our journey into the Amazon jungle. We will first travel overland to the Community of Infierno, followed by a one-and-a-half-hour boat ride on the Tambopata River to reach the lodge. During the trip, we will enjoy lunch on board while keeping an eye out for birds, capybaras, caimans, and turtles. In the afternoon, we will explore the surroundings of the lodge, immersing ourselves in the dense vegetation among giant trees to observe squirrels, insects, tarantulas, and frogs up close. This will be our first direct encounter with the incredible biodiversity of the jungle before having dinner and spending the night at the lodge, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

We will wake up at dawn to reach a nearby observation tower, where we will admire a “ccolpa” where parrots, macaws, and other birds gather to eat clay in the early morning light. Afterward, we will walk to Lake Tres Chimbadas, which we will explore aboard a silent catamaran—an ideal vantage point for spotting giant otters, *hoatzins* (shanshos), herons, kingfishers, reptiles, and mammals. After this deep dive into the local aquatic wildlife, we will return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the rainforest, where we will spend our second night.

After breakfast, we will walk for about two and a half hours through the jungle to reach Lake Cocococha. In the afternoon, we will head back toward the lodge to visit a *chakra*—a traditional agricultural plot where we will discover tropical fruit plants and medicinal species used by the locals, while also observing various bird species. At night, we will experience the thrill of a boat excursion on the Tambopata River: with the help of an expert guide and flashlights, we will look for the glowing eyes of caimans and try to spot capybaras or other nocturnal animals roaming along the riverbanks. It will be a memorable experience before wrapping up the day and spending our last night at the lodge.

In the morning, return by boat to the port and then overland to Puerto Maldonado in time for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, meet our local representative at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The afternoon will be free for rest to allow for a gradual acclimatization to the altitude. We recommend eating very light meals. Night at the hotel.

After breakfast, we will visit the San Pedro market accompanied by our guide, to discover Andean flavors, colors, and traditions. Next, we will explore the Inca ruins in the surroundings of Cusco, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay, to then continue with the visit to Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun. Free afternoon. In the evening, we will take a guided walk in the historic center of Cusco, discovering its most hidden and fascinating side, among legends, myths, ghosts, and mysterious tales. Night at the hotel.

Today, with our guide and private transport, we will set off to discover the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The first stop will be Chinchero, where we will visit the Temple of the Rainbow. We will continue towards Moray, an extraordinary example of Inca engineering and ancient agricultural laboratory, to then reach Maras, with its spectacular community-managed salt pans, still active today after over a thousand years and immersed in a breathtaking landscape. Finally, we will continue towards Ollantaytambo, the only Inca village still inhabited, an extraordinary example of urban planning. In the afternoon we will take the train to Aguas Calientes, gateway to Machu Picchu. Night at the hotel.

Today we will realize the dream of a lifetime: from Aguas Calientes we will go up by bus to Machu Picchu, the legendary “lost city”. This archaeological site, famous for its ruins and the view over the Urubamba valley, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the seven wonders of the modern world. The private guided visit (about 2 and a half hours) will reveal to you the history of this unique place. The most adventurous will be able to climb independently Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, or Huchuy Picchu. In the afternoon train to Ollantaytambo (or Poroy) and transfer by bus with other tourists to Cusco. Night at the hotel.

Departure at dawn for the Rainbow Mountain of Palccoyo (100 km from Cusco), still little visited by mass tourism. With private vehicle and guide, after a 4-hour journey and a stop for breakfast, we will start the walk between 4,700 and 4,900 meters. The route takes about an hour and a half and offers spectacular views of the Rainbow Mountain. We will explore a evocative stone “forest” with a view over the “Red Valley”. Lunch and return to Cusco in the evening. Night at the hotel.

Note: as an alternative to Palccoyo, it is possible to opt for Vinicunca. However, we remind that the route to Vinicunca is more strenuous, reaching up to 5,100 meters and the site is often very crowded. For a more authentic, intimate, and relaxed experience, we suggest Palccoyo.

Today we will travel, accompanied by other tourists, to Puno (about a 10-hour journey). The tourist bus (equipped with heating, air conditioning, chemical toilet, and with a Spanish/English guide) will make a few stops: the 17th-century church of Andahuaylillas, the Temple of Wiracocha in Raqchi, and the Museum of Pukara. Buffet lunch included in Sicuani. Upon arrival in Puno, meeting at the bus station with our local representative and transfer to the hotel. Night at the hotel.

After breakfast, we head to the port and embark on a boat to Uros floating islands, located north of Puno’s bay. Then we reach Amantani island where we have lunch and spend the afternoon discovering the island. Dinner and night with a local family.

After breakfast we go towards Taquile, the biggest island of the Lake Titicaca. We disembark on the northern side and walk untill the main part of the island. Lunch in Taquile. We get back to Puno in the afternoon. Night in Puno.

At dawn, departure by minibus with other tourists from Puno towards Chivay. Along the route we will admire the landscapes of the plateau and some lakes in the Lagunillas area, rich in Andean fauna such as alpacas, llamas, vicuñas, and birds. We will make a stop at Patapampa, the highest point at 4910 meters, which offers a spectacular view of the surrounding volcanoes. We will then arrive in Chivay, gateway to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world. In the afternoon, we can relax at the thermal springs of La Calera, immersing ourselves in natural pools with medicinal waters between 35°C and 38°C. Night at the hotel.

Departure at dawn to reach the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, from where we will be able to observe up close the majestic flight of the Andean condor. On the way back to Chivay we will stop in the unique villages of Maca and Yanque and at various viewpoints from which we will be able to admire the spectacular terraces of the Colca and the breathtaking landscapes of the valley. We will then continue the journey by minibus and arrive in Arequipa in the afternoon, crossing the Salinas and Aguada Blanca natural reserve. Night at the hotel.

Free day in Arequipa, the “White City.” We recommend not missing: the Santa Catalina Monastery with its evocative narrow streets and colorful courtyards, the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries where the Juanita Mummy is preserved, the lively and colorful San Camilo market, and the delicious typical dishes of the local cuisine. In the evening, transfer to the airport in good time to board the direct flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, meeting at the airport with our local representative and transfer to the hotel. Night at the hotel.

 Verificata Viaggio Indimenticabile Il Perù un viaggio indimenticabile! Sicuramente in primis per le straordinarie bellezze di questo territorio sconfinato, che ci ha stupiti ogni giorno di più.  Verificata perùEtico per un'esperienza indimenticabile Consiglio vivamente a chiunque stia programmando un viaggio nella meravigliosa terra del Perù di affidarsi a Perù Etico. Grazie a Perù Etico ci è stato possibile visitare in 15 giorni tanti luoghi differenti muovendoci attraverso il Perù con un organizzazione di tempi e di mezzi impeccabile. Molto affidabile l'assistenza 24/24 ore di una persona a tanto addetta nonchè il programma dettagliato del viaggio corredato dell'indicazione dei ristoranti migliori nelle varie tappe (che abbiamo gradito tantissimo!!! in Perù il cibo è fantastico!!). Grazie all'applicazione fornita da Perù Etico si hanno sempre a portata di mano tutte le indicazioni necessarie per viaggiare e organizzarsi durante le varie tappe. Sicuramente ci affideremo ancora a questo tour operator per altri viaggi in America Latina. Un grazie a tutto lo staff, a Emanuele per l'assistenza nella fase iniziale di programmazione del viaggio e a Gianni per la squisita disponibilità durante il viaggio.  Verificata Fantastico Perù Assieme a mia moglie ho fatto un viaggio in Perù di 12 giorni organizzato da Perù Etico. Il viaggio è stato pianificato e personalizzato da Emanuele in relazione alle nostre esigenze e richieste. Emanuele si è dimostrato una persona molto empatica e estremamente veloce nel rispondere alle mie mail con le quali chiedevo informazioni o altro. L’organizzazione del tour è stata fatta molto bene e anche tutta la parte burocratica è stata gestita in modo rapido ed efficiente. Molto interessante è l’idea di creare una app sempre aggiornata all’interno della quale è inserito tutto quello che serve, itinerario, biglietti, hotel, etc etc. Durante il tour avevamo un supporto costante e diretto con Camilo che si è dimostrato una persona molto disponibile e attento a gestire le attività pratiche del viaggio oltre che eventuali specifiche necessità. Un plauso anche alle guide a autisti che ci hanno supportato in questo viaggio, preparate, socievoli e molto disponibili, in modo particolare a Louis e Edwin con i quali abbiamo passato la maggior parte del tempo. Il viaggio è stato nel complesso molto bello e interessante. Se devo indicare cosa ci è piaciuto di più direi Machu Picchu e l’esperienza di un giorno e mezzo nella casa di una famiglia locale sull’isola di Taquile.  Verificata Un Perù da vivere, non solo da visitare Siamo appena rientrati da un bellissimo viaggio in Perù, organizzato con grande attenzione e con un itinerario che ci ha permesso di scoprire davvero il Paese. Abbiamo apprezzato particolarmente la preparazione e la disponibilità delle guide, sempre attente e capaci di farci conoscere luoghi, storia e cultura in modo coinvolgente. Uno dei ricordi più belli è sicuramente la giornata trascorsa con una famiglia locale di Taquile: un’esperienza autentica e molto emozionante, che ci ha permesso di conoscere da vicino la loro quotidianità e che porteremo con noi come uno dei momenti più speciali del viaggio.  Verificata Perù Etico: un'esperienza eccezionale ed autentica Abbiamo visitato il Perù (circuito classico) in gruppo grazie all'organizzazione di Perù Etico. Fin da subito si sono mostrati professionali e disponibili verso ogni nostra esigenza, confezionandoci un itinerario su misura per noi. Rispettate tutte le nostre richieste (luoghi da visitare, sistemazione in hotel, spostamenti). Hanno saputo gestire un imprevisto, non dipeso da loro, con grande prontezza, professionalità e disponibilità, trovando per noi la soluzione migliore. Consiglio vivamente a chi voglia visitare il Perù in forma autentica ed etica, rispettosa nei confronti della popolazione locale, di affidarsi senza esitazione a Perù Etico.  Verificata Perù e Bolivia: un viaggio straordinario, organizzato con grande esperienza e professionalità Siamo una famiglia di 6 persone con 4 figli dai 16 ai 21 anni . È stata il primo viaggio in Sud America per noi e abbiamo viaggiato con PeruEtico tra Perù e Bolivia e siamo rimasti estremamente soddisfatti. Il nostro era un viaggio piuttosto complesso, con moltissime tappe e modalità di spostamento diverse: trasferimenti privati, treni e bus per Machu Picchu, bus attraverso gli altipiani, attraversamento della frontiera tra Perù e Bolivia, voli interni, lunghi trasferimenti via terra e diversi giorni in fuoristrada nel Salar de Uyuni. Nonostante tutto questo, l’organizzazione è stata sempre precisa e puntuale e non abbiamo mai avuto la sensazione di doverci preoccupare della logistica. Durante il viaggio abbiamo incontrato molte guide e diversi autisti e ci siamo trovati bene con tutti: sempre puntuali, disponibili e professionali. Per noi era particolarmente importante perché non parliamo spagnolo. Diverse guide parlavano italiano o inglese e questo ci ha permesso non solo di viaggiare senza difficoltà, ma soprattutto di approfondire davvero quello che stavamo vedendo. Vorremmo citare in particolare Louis, la nostra guida nella zona di Cusco, che parlava italiano. Con la sua grande preparazione e la sua passione è riuscito a trasmettere a tutti noi l’amore per la storia, le tradizioni e la cultura del suo Paese. Non si è limitato a spiegare monumenti e siti archeologici: attraverso i suoi racconti ci ha aiutato a comprendere meglio il Perù e a guardarlo con occhi diversi. Più in generale, quello che abbiamo apprezzato di PeruEtico è stata la capacità di utilizzare la propria esperienza per farci vivere i luoghi nel modo migliore possibile. Machu Picchu ne è un ottimo esempio: grazie all’organizzazione siamo riusciti ad arrivare molto presto, vedere l’alba con pochissime persone e visitare la cittadella in un’atmosfera davvero speciale, riuscendo poi nello stesso giorno anche a salire sulla Montagna Machu Picchu. Sono dettagli organizzativi che possono cambiare completamente la qualità dell’esperienza. Anche per la Montagna Arcobaleno abbiamo apprezzato la scelta di portarci a Palccoyo, un’alternativa meno frequentata rispetto ai percorsi più turistici, che ci ha permesso di vivere l’ambiente andino in maniera molto più tranquilla. Era proprio uno degli elementi previsti nel nostro itinerario, con un percorso che raggiunge i 5000 metri. Un altro esempio ancora più significativo è stato il Salar de Uyuni. È un ambiente straordinario ma anche estremo, dove altitudine, distanze, condizioni delle piste e perfino una nevicata possono trasformarsi rapidamente in un problema. In un luogo del genere l’esperienza delle guide e degli autisti diventa fondamentale. Noi viaggiavamo con due fuoristrada, due autisti e una guida dedicata. Durante il percorso vedevamo invece spesso altri gruppi viaggiare in sei persone su un unico fuoristrada con una sola persona che svolgeva contemporaneamente il ruolo di autista e guida. È stato uno di quei momenti in cui abbiamo realmente percepito il valore della scelta organizzativa fatta da PeruEtico, non solo in termini di comodità ma anche di sicurezza e qualità dell’esperienza. Le strutture scelte sono state molto belle e adeguate alle diverse realtà attraversate, comprese naturalmente quelle più semplici nelle zone remote della Bolivia. Abbiamo apprezzato molto anche la comunicazione con PeruEtico con Emanuele e con Fabio , sempre rapida, precisa e tempestiva sia nella preparazione del viaggio (con Emanuele) sia mentre eravamo sul posto ( con Fabio). In un itinerario così articolato, sapere di poter contare sempre su un riferimento affidabile è stato molto importante. Ma forse il valore aggiunto più grande sono state proprio le persone: le diverse guide incontrate ci hanno trasmesso non soltanto informazioni storiche e culturali, ma anche il loro punto di vista, la loro esperienza e il loro rapporto con il territorio. Questo ci ha permesso di conoscere Perù e Bolivia in maniera molto più profonda rispetto a un semplice viaggio turistico. Per noi è stato un viaggio bellissimo, intenso e ricco di esperienze che ricorderemo a lungo. PeruEtico è un’agenzia seria, competente e affidabile, con una conoscenza profonda dei luoghi in cui opera.
