We will take you to the North of Peru, in an area still unknown to mass tourism, from the mysterious Kuelap to the Gocta waterfalls. A different journey, to discover the culture Chachapoyas, an alternative experience, for all those who seek the less beaten feelings!
Arrival at Jaén airport, meeting with one of our staff members and transfer to Chachapoyas (a 3-hour trip). Night at the hotel.
We pick you up at the hotel and we head to the fortified citadel of Kuelap with our private vehicle and guide. In Nuevo Tingo, we take a bus transferring us till the cable car boarding station. The cable car brings us to Kuelap, considered as the most important archaeological site of Chachapoyas culture. We have to catch up with more than 1500 years of history! We visit the main buildings of the site, small houses, high and low parts, tower, main temple, south platform, etc.
Lunch and way back to Chachapoyas. Night at the hotel.
We pick you up at the hotel and with head to San Barteleo with our private vehicle and guide. From there we walk around 45 minutes until the Revash Mausoleum. It is a 2-floor complex that has a roof and Chachapoyas iconography as well as paintings representing zoomorphism, anthropomorphism and geometrical forms. We then go to Leymabamba and have lunch. We visit Leymabamba Museum, where we can see 219 mummies exhibited in a perfect state of conservation. We can also have a closer look at looms, ceramics, weapons, musical instruments and a huge collection of khipus. We get back to Chachapoyas. Night at the hotel.
We pick you up at the hotel and we go to Cocachimba by private tran sport. The town is located an hour away from Chachapoyas and from there we start a 2h30 walk up to Gocta waterfall. On the way we can observe a diverse fauna and flora. We have some free time to enjoy the place and then we get back to Cocachimba for lunch. We reach back Chachapoyas in the afternoon. Night at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Chachapoyas bus station
