Today we will take you to discover a Rainbow Mountain little known to mass tourism, that of Palccoyo. The walk is easy, practically flat, so much less demanding for the altitude compared to the more famous Vinincunca, compared to which it has nothing to envy!
We start our trip at 6:30am en route to Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain. This place is located 100km away from Cusco and is not known by mass tourism.
After a 4hour trip (private transport and guide), we reach the starting point of the trek, that goes from 4700m to 4900m.
We walk in the middle of the rainbow mountain during an hour or so. Lunch in a familiar restaurant in Cusipata. We get back to Cusco at around 6:00pm.

The hike starts from 4700m and reach 4900m; you will feel the altitude and it is recommended to walk slowly. Tour suitable for fit people.
Peru, Arequipa, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, The beautiful Rainbow Mountains (Palccoyo thanks to the advice of Emanuele and Gianni), Lake Titicaca… ..a dream finally realized with this journey. Later in Bolivia: La Paz and the amazing Salar de Uyuni, then enjoying an incredible scenery with the colored lagoons. The merit is certainly of Peru, with its always excellent cuisine but above all the organization of PeruEtico, and the availability and presence of Gianni at any time to solve any kind of problem.
Every tour was every punctual. It was a formative journey also thanks to PeruEtico to whom we relied for this adventure; and what to say when on your birthday you find a cake with a candle in the room?? We were overjoyed!

Exciting journey, not only thanks to the beautiful destination chosen (Peru) but also thanks to PeruEtico, which managed to organize unique experiences for us that we will always carry in our hearts. For example, we remember with emotion the day spent with an Andean community or the fascinating evening tour of Myths and Legends of Cusco.
We must thank everyone, from Emanuele who in the first place has organized a perfect itinerary for us and which according to our needs has always been available to “touch up” and personalize it.

A special mention goes to David, our Peruvian guide (speaking an excellent Italian) in the area of Cusco, Valle Sacra and Pallcoyo. A special person, not just a guide, but a fan of the trade … with his humility and all his knowledge he managed to convey the charm of the magnificent Inca empire, making us go home with much more desire to deepen the subject, but also to make us better understand the traditions and realities of this people, which touched us deeply.
