A beautiful walk away from tourists, in the heart of the Sacred Valley, all downhill along an inca path! For everyone!
We get picked up from our hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley. Transfer to Chinchero (3,762m above sea level) famous for the Rainbow Temple, an archaeological site from Inca times. From here we begin our long descent through an Inca Trail made of stones, about 8km long. This recently restored trail leads us to Urquillos (2,800m above sea level), located in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Its microclimate allows the best corn of the Vilcanota valley to grow, a corn known as “The Great White” (El Gran Blanco). During the hike we enjoy beautiful scenery and the sacred mountains (“Apus”) of Pitusiray and Sahuasiray. From Urquillos we get back to Cusco by private transport.
Private tour.
This hike is easy and suitable to all, even family with children. However, since it is a long 3-hour 1000m descent with a 1000, we don’t recommend it to people suffering from knees issues.
