PeruEtico offers group tours with fixed dates (generally in August) and individual tours (perfect for honeymoons and small groups of friends) throughout the year.

For those who’d rather travel independently, without an organized trip, we offer local tours throughout Peru.

Everyone who travels with PeruEtico supports, through a “project contribution”:
3 Children’s Homes (CEPROF, Hogar de las Estrellas and Mosoq Runa), on “Ethical Tours”
Minka Fair Trade (which represents an organization of fair-trade producers), on “Fair-Trade Tours”

At the end of the year, each project receives what was raised on its corresponding tours.

The Ethical Tour project contributions are divided equally between the three Children’s Homes. In the Homes, the money often goes towards vocational training, hiring nurses or other professionals, medical expenses, or drama therapy.

Minka Fair Trade divides its funds among its producers, who organize small development projects that benefit their communities. In fact, “Minka,” in Quechua, means “working together for the greater good.”

All our tours, both Ethical and Fair-Trade (and some Local), include visits to the projects, introducing you personally to the organizations and people you’ve decided to support.

On Ethical Tours, visiting a Home is a real, shared experience with the children. You’ll eat lunch with them, and a project representative will explain the great work that goes on in these lively environments.

On Fair-Trade Tours, you’ll go into the artisans’ homes, where they work with alpaca fiber, ceramics and medicinal plants.  You’ll eat with them and sleep in their homes, and they’ll tell you about their work and lives.

But let’s get back to the tours…You have two transport alternatives when traveling with us:
Public buses: High-quality, with super-reclining seats, movies and a bathroom, these buses help you save on the total tour price.
Private cars/minibuses: More comfortable than the public buses, private transport provides you with your own driver, and you don’t have to worry about connections or tickets.

The hotels or hostels we use are family-run, warm environments where you’ll find staff ready to help and support you. 

The tours are “made to fit”: our timetables are flexible, and our guides are competent and prepared. It’ll be like traveling with friends…

PeruEtico Ethical Tours are committed to the following standards:
Using local organizations and communities in a sustainable way.
Choosing local travel agencies over international businesses.
Putting together small groups of travelers, so as to facilitate interaction with local communities.
Preferring family-run lodging and tourist organizations that are run by associations, NGOs or communities.
Using legitimate local partners.
Organizing the tours professionally but without going over the top, so as to ease the traveler’s interaction with the local culture.
Preferring environmentally sustainable tours, lodging and transport.
Financing the Mosoq Runa and Huaro projects, with a set percentage of money made on tourist packages.
Presenting a report at the end of each year, explaining in detail how the proceeds for the projects have been used.

When you choose to travel with us, you’ll have to:
Respect the environment, the artistic and cultural heritage, the guides and the local communities.
Always ask permission before taking pictures.
Avoid showing off luxury goods in poor contexts and respect local customs by avoiding offensive behavior.
