ArgentinaAt a first glimpse, Argentina seems to be the most “Western” country of Latin America but due to the 2000/2001 crisis and due to the huge cultural, geographic, social and historical differences of a 4 thousand km length country, you can notice the strong social inequities that caused the birth of interesting new realities, as workers’, women’s or unemployed people’s cooperatives that have found an original way of escape from the capitalistic model.
The urban reality of this experience is reflected in the 2 projects sustained by the project fee: the Food Bank that, since ten years approximately, recuperate and collect food to distribute it to little associations in Buenos Aires; Las Manitos is just a project that benefits from the Food Bank’s program. During the tours is also possible to sustain other projects directly, in La Boca district in Buenos Aires and in Rosario city.
